FabHR is seeking a *dynamic and innovative Mechanical Designer* to join our manufacturing operations in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of *CAD/CAM files and programs* used on various CNC-controlled machine tools and industrial robotics. You will also contribute to the development of new products and associated technical documentation using *SolidWorks* and *Microsoft Office Suite*.
The position combines modifying existing products to meet customer-specific requirements and producing standard programs for newly developed products. Additionally, you will provide ongoing *technical support* to the factory floor for product design and manufacturability challenges, ensuring seamless production.

*Key Responsibilities*
* *Develop CAD/CAM files* for cutting, folding, welding, and finishing sheet metal products using *SolidWorks* and *Radan*.
* Collaborate with the *Sales team* to design new products tailored to specific customer needs.
* *Review and specify components* for outsourcing to suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
* Act as the *design expert*, providing *technical support* to manufacturing teams for product design and manufacturability concerns.
* *Program and configure industrial robotics* for welding and finishing systems, as well as other robotic applications.
*Desired Skills & Experience*
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
* *Recent graduate* in *Mechanical Engineering* or a related field (this is an entry-level position).
* Hands-on experience in *CAD/CAM file and program development* (preferably with *SolidWorks* and *Radan*).
* Familiarity with the *complete development cycle* of sheet metal products, from design to manufacturing.
* A *creative team player* with a knack for brainstorming and finding innovative solutions to customer application challenges.
* Strong *time management*, *organizational*, and *planning skills*.
* Self-motivated with a *customer service-oriented mindset* and a positive attitude.
* Proficiency in *Microsoft Office Suite* (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) and internet navigation.
* *Excellent written and oral communication skills*.
