Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Urban area. Manufacture. Tasks: Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Develop construction specifications and procedures. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. MS Office. Project management software. Area of work experience: Design. Installation, maintenance and inspection of equipment or facilities. Quality assurance or control. Research and development. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Power plant. Area of specialization: Structural engineering. Hydroelectric projects. Mechanical. Security and safety: Bondable. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment.
