If you answered yes, our *Pinawa, Manitoba* location is looking to fill the role of *Mechanical Engineer. *Whiteshell (WL) Engineering provides engineering design, procurement and construction services to the WL site. The Mechanical Engineer designs (conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs), supervises construction and monitors new process and mechanical systems. The work also involves the design of retrofits and modifications to existing facilities and systems.
*What will you be doing?*
* Preparing and reviewing documentation in support of projects (e.g design plans, concept reports, designs, technical specifications, customer proposals, work plans, tender documents, schedules and estimates.)
* Preparing, reviewing, and approving technical reports and specifications.
* Managing project resources (i.e., contractors, technical staff) to meet or exceed applicable quality, code, regulatory and customer requirements.
* Ensuring work within their responsibility is performed to meet or exceed applicable quality, code, regulatory and customer requirements.
* Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
* Participating and maintaining up to date in all safety and operational training offered through the company.
* Sharing learned knowledge and skills with peers.
* Identifying and reporting any real or potential safety hazards; wearing all safety equipment related to your position as well as participating in all safety-training offered through the facility.
* Performing other duties as assigned by the manager.

*Experience:*
* Minimum of 8 years related experience preferably with commercial or industrial building systems in the nuclear, process or power industries.
* Experience with AutoCAD or other design software is required.
* Must be familiar with building and piping codes and associated compliance standards (ASME, CSA).
* Knowledge of ASME boiler and pressure vessel standards and ASME B31 piping standards.
* Working knowledge of HVAC systems, CSA B51 pressure boundary systems and components, piping systems, facilities design and maintenance.
* Formal Project Management training and/or experience is desirable.
*Education:*
* Bachelor (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university of recognized standing.
* Membership in or eligible for membership within the Engineers Geoscientists of Manitoba (EGM) as a Registered Professional Engineer.
*Security Eligibility Requirement:*
* Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC) which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat ?Standard on Security Screening? and the ?Policy on Government Security?.
*Working Conditions:*
* Must possess normal physical agility necessary to perform all aspects of the work that involves bending, lifting and mobility.
* Must be capable of wearing and working in protective clothing and using equipment as required.
