Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Estimating. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads. Project cash flow and financing requirements. Advise on tendering procedures. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Type of experience: Commercial and/or industrial construction. Project size estimating experience: 0 - $100,000. $1,500,001 - $4,000,000. Area of work experience: Purchasing, procurement and contracts. Project coordination. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Sitting.
