We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated Purchaser to add to our team!
*Job Summary:*
The Purchaser?s primary function is to negotiate prices and prepare purchase orders for parts, materials, services, supplies, and equipment requested through approved purchase requisitions or generated from approved and released work order demand following established policies and procedures.
*Job Responsibilities:*
-Process purchase requests by obtaining necessary quotes, ensuring required approvals, preparing purchase orders, confirming orders with vendors, and tracking delivery on schedule.
-Assist in identifying and evaluating vendors of material, services, equipment, and supplies with respect to cost and quality using established vendor questionnaires in coordination with the Quality department.
-Source new vendors and show cost savings.
-Manage existing vendor relationships and assist other departments in vendor performance issues.
-Assist the accounting department in resolving vendor invoicing issues.
-Assist in direct purchases at stores and pick-up and deliveries as required.
-Maintain Vendor and Part | Planning data in the ERP/MRP system.
-Ensure purchase orders and other vendor contract information is stored and maintained in an organized fashion on the server.
-Participate in annual inventory counts.
-Follow company policies and work instructions to ensure the purchasing processes run smoothly, cost-effective and on schedule.
-Participate in the development and implementation of a continuous improvement methodology
*Job Specific Knowledge:*
-A High School diploma and courses in Purchasing Management.
-Minimum two years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Power Generation or Mining sectors.
-Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP software, preferably Infor Visual Mfg.
-Self?motivated with strong organizational and negotiation skills.
-The ability to read mechanical drawings is an asset.
-Ability to travel within North America with a valid passport and driver?s license.
