Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Underground. Work setting: Industrial. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Structural construction. Mine construction. Process piping. Transportation/travel information: Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
