Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Recommend measures to improve productivity . Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions. Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Establish methods to meet work schedules. Read blueprints and drawings. Requisition materials and supplies. Supervise workers and projects. Train or arrange for training. Pave and rake asphalt. Supervision: 5-10 people. Heavy equipment operators, except crane. Labourers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Type of product: Asphalt or concrete finishes. Area of work experience: Asphalt finishing. Type of industry experience: Construction. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Overtime required. Tight deadlines. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus.
