COMPANY/CLIENT: Puglisevich on behalf of Floatel International (FI)BUSINESS ADDRESS: 611 Torbay Road, St. John's, NL A1A 5J1CONTACT: careers@puglisevich.comREPORTS TO: Chief OfficerDEPARTMENT: Deck CrewSUPERVISES: N/ASALARY RANGE: $82,000.00 - $87,000.00 CADLOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland, CanadaTYPE OF RIG: Floatel Endurance; Semi-Submersible Accommodation and Construction Support Vessel (ASV)ROTATION: 28/28TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Full TimeCONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate Six and Half (6.5) MonthsNUMBER OF POSITIONS: Four (4)JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Able Bodied Seaman II is to carry out all tasks and duties as directed by the Chief Officer or their nominee thereby enabling the Deck Department to operate safely and efficiently.PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or EquivalentCanadian Bridgewatch Rating or STCW II/4 Equivalent0-3 Years Offshore ExperiencePrevious vessel or comparable rig experience requiredPrevious Experience as CoxswainSemi-Sub Experience considered an assetExperience as HDA (Helideck Assistant) PreferredGood verbal and written communication skills in EnglishMust pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening ChecksDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Able Bodied Seaman II is to ensure that all their tasks and duties are carried out safely and efficiently using relevant safety equipment.They are to ensure that a valid Work Permit is in the force for work requiring such a PermitThe Able Bodied Seaman II reports to the supervisorThey are responsible for assisting in and reporting any malfunction of any equipment they are using or having knowledge of being in use, to the Bosun or the Deck Officer on watch.The responsibilities also include reporting as required by FIMSTo be a part of the category management program if requiredThey are to follow the ISPS tasks given by the SSOThey must be able to function as a Banksman/Slinger.The Able Bodied Seaman II's special duties include, but are not limited to, coordinate the correct and safe operation of the anchor and retrieving winches and the proper handling of the towing bridle and the anchor handling equipment.They may also perform duties of a Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or Helicopter Deck Assistant (HDA) and/or a Helicopter Fireguard, providing they have the qualifications and experience.Specific duties may be stated on the X000-307-01F1 Muster List or set out in the X000-307-00 Emergency Response ManualThey are to carry out any lawful command as requested by Shipboard ManagementOther Duties as AssignedThe above is intended as a summary of the key requirements for the position and is not intended to be complete list of all duties and responsibilities.It is the objective of Floatel International to ensure employment equity within the workplace.
