*Job Summary* Bristol Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a registered Veterinary Technician to our team. We are a very busy clinic that requires staff to be comfortable working in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide high-quality support in a veterinary setting. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is punctual and has a passion for helping animals. We are an independently owned Canadian clinic. *Duties* * Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. * Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the animals and staff. * Prepare medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. * Answering phones and booking appointments. * Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures. * Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. * Monitor vital signs and overall health of animals during recovery from anesthesia or illness. * Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection. * Perform dental cleanings while utilizing dental terminology effectively. *Requirements* * Previous veterinary technician experience is required (minimum 2 years) * Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices. * Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary diagnostics. * Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and critical care is highly desirable. * Ability to handle dogs safely and effectively. * Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately and professionally. * Commitment to providing high-quality pet care while maintaining a clean work environment. * Comfortable with taking x-rays and assisting with surgery's. * Cornerstone experience is preferred but not mandatory. * Experience performing routine dental cleanings. Must be licensed, as you will be doing the cleanings. Hourly wage will be determined based on level of experience. References will be required.
