Position Summary The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing powder coating products and raw materials to ensure they meet company specifications and customer requirements. This role performs routine quality checks, documents results, and works closely with Production and R&D teams to maintain consistent product quality and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Testing & Inspection * Perform routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products. * Evaluate powder coatings for color, gloss, appearance, particle size, cure, adhesion, and mechanical properties. * Apply coatings to test panels and assess results against established specifications. * Inspect incoming raw materials to verify compliance with quality standards. Documentation & Reporting * Record test results accurately and maintain detailed quality control records. * Prepare reports summarizing findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions. * Ensure traceability of materials, samples, and test data. Equipment Operation & Maintenance * Operate laboratory and testing equipment such as gloss meters, ovens, spray guns, and curing equipment. * Calibrate and maintain QC instruments to ensure accurate results. * Keep the laboratory and testing area clean and organized. Production Support * Communicate quality issues to Production and assist in troubleshooting. * Support investigations into customer complaints and product deviations. * Collaborate with R&D and Production to improve formulations and manufacturing processes. Safety & Compliance * Follow all safety procedures, WHMIS requirements, and PPE standards. * Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and ISO standards. * Participate in continuous improvement and quality system initiatives. Qualifications * Diploma or degree in related field. * 1?3 years of experience in quality control or laboratory testing preferred. * Experience in the powder coating, paint, or coatings industry is considered a strong asset. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Comfortable working in both laboratory and production environments.
