The Government of Manitoba and the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce are providing $200K to launch a new pilot program supporting Black entrepreneurs and business owners. This program aims to address the province's underrepresentation of Black entrepreneurs and business owners and support their business growth and development.
The federal government’s Youth Employment and Skills Program will begin accepting applications for the 2025-2026 fiscal year on January 27, 2025. With $13.5M in funding, the program aims to create 1,200 jobs and help address labour shortages in Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sectors. Employers can submit their applications until February 24, 2025.

The federal government has confirmed that the headquarters of the new Canada Water Agency will be located in downtown Winnipeg. Last year, the government committed $85.1M over five years to establish the agency, which will guide water policy and fund water protection programs. The Winnipeg office will employ about 100 people.
