Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Commercial aviation. Outdoors. Bush pilot operation. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation provided. Urban area. Tasks: Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicopters. Follow emergency procedures to compensate for equipment malfunction or failure. Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight. Perform post-flight inspections. Record equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken during flight. Report required repairs to ground maintenance personnel. Co-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights. Conduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights. Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions and other information. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Commercial Pilot Licence - rotors. Pesticide Applicator's Licence. Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Licence. Visual Flight Rating. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Flight instructor ratings: Helicopter. Aircraft experience: Small turbine helicopter. Equipment and machinery experience: Fertilizer applicator. Sprayer or duster. Forklift. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Large workload. Hand-eye co-ordination. Overtime required. Ability to distinguish between colours. Sound discrimination. Sitting. Responsibilities
Tasks
- Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicopters
- Follow emergency procedures to compensate for equipment malfunction or failure
