BC Transit’s first electric vehicles will begin operating in Victoria in early 2025, following last year’s $395.5 million investment from the federal and provincial governments. The transit agency plans to add 141 electric buses next year. Over the next three to five years, BC Transit plans to acquire over 900 new buses, aiming to replace aging vehicles and expand service while minimizing environmental impact.
