<p><strong>Department mission</strong></p><p>Contribute to citizens? quality of life by enforcing Pointe-Claire by-laws and protecting Pointe-Claire territory with integrity and vigilance.</p><p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities and goals associated with the position</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Chief of operations, the Inspector oversees the proactive enforcement of regulations and ordinances related to municipal by-laws under her or his jurisdiction by conducting preventive patrol activities in areas under her or his responsibility and responding to service calls, assisting residents and other municipal departments and issuing tickets when necessary.</p><p></p><p>The jobholder?s main responsibilities are as follows:</p><ul><li>Respond to and handle complaints and petitions from the public; provide the public with information on the terms of by-laws and ordinances instituted by the City, and supply requested information.</li><li>Patrol the City to ensure compliance with the regulations under her or his jurisdiction; gather and report required information on any anomalies in regulations, signage, public spaces and public health.</li><li>Issue tickets when necessary to ensure compliance with municipal by-laws under her or his jurisdiction.</li><li>Record data and draft reports required by senior management related to actions, events, and various daily activities.</li><li>Monitor municipal buildings and respond to alarms.</li><li>Ensure communication among the various divisions of other municipal departments.</li><li>Testify in court during legal proceedings, ticket disputes and prosecutions.</li><li>Establish security perimeters when needed during traffic accidents until the appropriate authorities arrive at the scene; close off streets during fires or special events.</li><li>Ensure that mandatory health and safety measures are enforced by her or his team.</li><li>Drive an emergency vehicle</li><li>Administer first aid as required.</li><li>Perform any other related tasks.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Schedule </strong><span> </span></p><p>Evening and night schedule, minimum of 28 hours per week</p><p><strong> </strong><strong>Posting dates</strong></p><p>From March 11 to April 6, 2025</p><p></p><p><strong>How to apply</strong><span> </span></p><p>To apply for this position, go to <strong>www.pointe-claire.ca/en/city/jobs/</strong> and click on ?See available jobs?.
